The meeting between Myanmar’s State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi and the Chairman of the Energy Farm International Foundation (EFIF) Dr. Pachauri took place Friday 25th of August in the capital Nay Pyi Taw.
EFIF’s plans to establish the Energy Farm in Myanmar was discussed in the meeting, and the project was put forth as an example of how to use local resources to electrify rural areas. The Norwegian telecom company Telenor is also involved in the project, with the aim to provide renewable energy solutions to their many telecom towers.

FRI owns and runs the forest research station in Yedashe where the Energy Farm is planned to be located.
